Who was Elizabeth Taylor?
Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor was born in London, England on February 27, 1932. Elizabeth Taylor was one of the most celebrated film stars of all time with a career that spanned for more than sixty years. She played many roles and was known well for her beauty, yet was also a star in roles with emotionally charged characters.
At the age of ten, Elizabeth Taylor began her film debut with Universal Studios starring in such movies as: Lassie Come Home, There's One Born Every Minute, and The White Cliffs of Dover. National Velvet was a huge hit in 1944 and made young twelve year old Taylor a star, pulling in over $4 million at the box office.

Her Life & Loves
Unlike many child stars, Elizabeth Taylor was able to transition to more adult roles without any problems, her gorgeous looks didn't hurt her popularity either. She co-starred with Spencer Tracy in Father of the Bride (1950) at the young age of eighteen.
Elizabeth Taylor married her first husband at the age of seventeen, a hotel heir by the name of Nicky Hilton. Her first marriage lasted for only a short period of time. She married her second husband, actor Michael Welding in 1952. In all, Elizabeth Taylor was married eight times, including twice to actor Richard Burton.
The 90s were tough for Taylor due to numerous health problems including: congestive heart failure, diabetes, bilateral hip replacements, and a brain tumor removal. Taylor underwent heart surgery in October of 2009. Elizabeth Taylor lost the battle to congestive heart failure on March 23, 2011.
