Fragrant Beauty

A moon garden is a nice addition when planted next to a home's deck or patio. It not only adds its beauty with the variety of luminescent flowers, the choices have pleasant fragrances. Choose from a variety of white annuals and perennials, shrubs, and trees that flower at different times to have a moon garden year round.

Moon gardening is a great way to enjoy white or light-colored, night blooming plants. White or cream colored flowers reflect the moonlight, have pleasant fragrances, and they also attract nighttime pollinators, such as moths and bats. If their is no available deck or patio to sit and take in the view and scents, you may want to consider designing the garden near a window or sunroom of the home.

A moon garden can be a stand alone centerpiece with added seating such as a swing, bench, or other comfortable seating within the garden itself. If there is an available area of yard that is known to receive a higher amount of moonlight you may want to consider placing the garden there.

Blue-green, silver, or gray variegated foliage help enhance and set off the luminious glow of the white blooms of the garden. The dark green foilage of the plants themselves, along with some bordering hosta plants in dark shades, make a nice backdrop for the white, blue, and silver of the chosen plants.

Awesome video. I remember we used to sit around the campfire at my barn and watch them open in the evenings.
