What Men Really Find Attractive in a Woman

Most relationship articles focus on the wants and needs of women, but what about men? What do men want when it comes to finding that special someone in life? Many may think that sex is the number one priority for men when it comes to relationships, yet this is simply not true. One thing that men state is important is finding a true partner, someone who shares the same interests and that they can talk to about anything.

Confidence

Confidence is the most consistent trait that men find desirable in a woman. A woman who knows what she wants and how to get it is an attractive quality. Many men reported that women who lack self confidence and are always trying to please others as being a turn off. "Good looks" are a trait that most men (and let's be honest, women too!) list as need to have, yet having great legs, or gorgeous are not listed on most mens' lists of priority traits.

Shared Interests

If they have not tried some of the things that interest their guys, but are still willing to give them a try, most guys will be willing to teach them. Not having common interests can make it complicated to be together. Simply taking an interests in your man's hobbies, job, and things he enjoys can be the beginning of a great partnership.

Men want a woman who is independent and can stand on her own two feet, regardless if it goes along with his plans. When getting to know one another, guessing games are a waste of time. Men can't read womens' minds, and they don't want to have to try. A woman who is straightforward makes getting to know her easier.

Spontaneity, being able to make spur-of-the-moment decisions, and having an "adventuresome" personality ranked high as a very desirable trait in a woman. Contrary to popular belief, guys are not turned off by intelligent, powerful women. Although intelligence was a highly listed trait, many did prefer not having someone who was more intelligent than themselves.

Sense of Humor

No matter how much a person ages, everyone likes to act a little silly now and then. Having someone who can make you laugh is a top priority with most people, men and women. Someone that can get his jokes, and has her serious side. She is lighthearted and can be a child at heart.

Compassionate

Most men did not feel that a woman's world should revolve around him and preferred one who could show true genuine compassion for others. Narcissism is an undesired character trait in a woman for men who are looking for a partner in life. Catty behavior in a woman is a major turn-off with the majority of men.

Mysterious

Just when he thinks he has her all figured out, she will reveal a little bit of her mystery. Women that are conservative, outspoken, passionate, spontaneous, and lighthearted keeps a man guessing what she may be thinking of next. He gets as much enjoyment out of watching her ponder her thoughts as she does thinking them!

Men and women will never figure out what makes each other tick. Being up front with wants, needs, and expectations of one another is the only way to find out if their is a relationship future. While chemistry and the initial attraction people have for one another are very important one the list of wants for both men and women alike. Most people, especially as they mature, find themselves ready to settle down with someone who is compatible to their lifestyle.
