Late for Work....Again

When you wake up late and are scrambling around to get ready for work, do you automatically start thinking up excuses as to why you are running late for work....again? If so, you are not alone, according to a February 2009 CareerBuilder.com survey of over 8,000 workers, 12% said that they are late at least twice a week.

Before you decide to make up some far fetched version of the truth, just remember that your boss has probably heard them all. The following is from an April 6, 2009 CNN.com article entitled "Twelve amusing excuses for being late to work."

6. A gurney fell out of an ambulance and delayed traffic.

9. My father didn't wake me up.

10. A groundhog bit my bike tire and made it flat.

11. My driveway washed away in the rain last night.

12. I had to go to bingo.
